At least 50 killed as car bomb explodes at busy security checkpoint in Somalia’s capital (PHOTOS, VIDEOS)
A car bomb went off at a security checkpoint in the Somalian capital, Mogadishu on Saturday, killing at least 50 people. College students are among the victims.
The powerful blast destroyed a bus packed with students from Benadir University, Radio Belsan reported, citing Mogadishu Mayor Omar Mohamud Mohamed.

There were also reports of a firefight breaking out between security forces and Islamist militants at the checkpoint before the blast.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
